Abita Skies Aviation is now open for business, serving civil aviation enthusiasts and their aviation assets. Services include:

- Access to the 2,999-foot St. Tammany Parish Regional Airport runway.
- Gulf Coast Aviation Flight School.
- Pilot lounge.

About Abita Skies Aviation
Located on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, just north of New Orleans, Abita Skies Aviation is now the FBO at the freshly upgraded St. Tammany Parish Regional Airport.
We want Abita Skies Aviation to be known as a “destination” FBO, where local and transient pilots can gather, along with aviation enthusiasts and the community. Activities and events will include:
- Fly-ins for culinary and other events.
- Spot-landing contest.
- Wings and Wheels gathering of airplanes and classic cars.
When you fly in to Abita Skies Aviation, you will be met with friendly community and helpful services.

Management
Abita Skies Aviation is led by a team that includes Cheryl Christ Walsh, who serves as the on-site administrator and marketing and communications coordinator. Walsh grew up in aviation, working for years at an FBO in southern Louisiana that was owned by her family. Now she brings her extensive business experience to the task of vitalizing the St. Tammany Parish Regional Airport – a labor of love for this child of aviation.

About St. Tammany Parish Regional Airport
Located next to New Orleans, on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, the St. Tammany Parish Regional Airport serves the municipalities of Abita Springs, Covington, Mandeville and Madisonville, as well as surrounding communities. These historic and unique towns are growing destinations for living, working and tourism – and they are of course close to the world-class amenities of New Orleans.
At Abita Skies Aviation, our mission is to vitalize this quiet one-runway airport by creating more movement on the airbase. That means more airplanes taking off and landing, pilots purchasing aviation fuel from us and storing their single- and twin-engine planes on site. (No jets currently, since our runway is only 3,000 feet long, suitable for small aircraft and some twin-engine planes, but not turboprops or jets.)
Our commitment is to create a sense of welcome within our local aviation community. Happy to be your “concierge” when you fly in to the north shore, we here at Abita Skies Aviation invite you to stop by and join in as we grow this airfield – a folksy place where you can come and always feel welcome.
